Why we are here

Readathon knows that reading for pleasure is more important than family, wealth or social background in improving a child's future - socially, psychologically, academically and in their chosen career path. Children and young people who choose to read can transform their lives. Readathon knows how to motivate children to read for the joy of it - and by doing to help less fortunate children. Everybody wins: children, parents, teachers, schools, charities and society - but especially the children.

Our vision is of a society in which all children enjoy the fullest opportunities in life through the positive effects of choosing to read.
 
What we want to achieve
Our mission is to help create a society where all children discover the joys and benefits of reading because they want to. We will do this by stimulating, helping, and motivating children to read.
To achieve this, we will inform and influence adults.
Whilst achieving this, we will raise funds to help sick and disadvantaged children.
