Beanstalk, the national charity that recruits, vets, trains and supports volunteers to work in primary schools with children who have fallen behind with their reading.

Healthy Books, a brilliant list of books that focus on specific health issues, with titles suitable for adults and children
Reading Zone, information and free resources about children's books, aimed at librarians, teachers, parents and children (pre-school, primary and secondary)
Spinebreakers, a funky and engaging site about reading for teenagers
SwapIt, the UK's top swapping site for teens and kids
World Book Day, the organisation behind the annual world-wide day for celebrating children's books and reading (1st Thursday in March)
World Book Night, the organisation celebrating reading for all ages (23rd April, Shakespeare's birthday)
